whatkindofbirdareyou asked: I live in Rockwall and we have to pay extremely high taxes. We just live in a simple 1980s rancher house. Anyways, RISD is cutting teachers from every performing art program (like, if there are two theater teachers, then there will be one and if there are three band teachers there will be two, ect.) and the classes are going to have 35+ students in them because they are not hiring any new teachers. I imagine this will be a problem because we're growing so fast out here.

I hate all educational/school budget cuts. Irving does pretty well avoiding this and still has about 20 students per teacher. I honestly feel that with the extremely high taxes that all property owning Texans pay on their property we should have more in the budget for schools and roads that are actually level without so many major cracks and potholes.

A Recipe for Bad Customer Relations, Way to Go FedEx SmartPost

I ordered all my Christmas gifts through Amazon. This is something I have normally done for the last few years since I have teenagers in the house and nowhere to hide the unwrapped gifts anymore. I am also a little cheap, not really, more like unemployed through summer at least. Now when shopping with Amazon […]

Winter…Bah humbug!

I have decided that even though I love snow my arthritis makes me dislike winter a lot. This really sucks. Completely off topic…I would like a chauffeur too.

Vacay Days

So I’m just getting around to discussing my vacation. I’ve been back almost two very long weeks. We had a great time on the cruise. It was just Jaime, Lexy, Vonni, and myself. Qi stayed home to take care of the dogs, she’s very responsible when it comes to them. It wasn’t always like that […]

Witch & Wizard The Fire by James Patterson

I can’t even remember when I started this book but I am having the hardest time finishing it. James Patterson has used a different coauthor for each of the books in the Witch & Wizard series. I’m not sure this was such a great idea. When I am interested in a book or series I […]

50 Book Pledge Page

I will finally be updating my 50 Book Pledge page today. Yes, it’s about time you really don’t have to mention that I already know.

What a week!

I’ve had a full range of emotions and attitudes this week so I’ll try to do a quick summary of the happenings. The good this week is easy. I stepped on the scale Wednesday with great fear. I’ve been eating better but I don’t always eat the way I’m supposed to. I have been weighing […]

What Did I Just Think?

I always thought that I have the most unconnected random thoughts but it hit me this morning that I was wrong. This morning I saw lightning and was trying to think of a really cool way to write that down. The first thing to come to mind was, “I see fire and I see rain.” […]

Stupid Arthritis

I’m starting to notice something about my arthritis. One thing is that stretching isn’t so simple anymore. I used to get up in the morning and stretch which helped me feel more comfortable for the start of my day. Now stretching usually just causes me some kind of pain, usually in my lower back. No […]

Doctor Visits

So a week ago today I went to see my doctor and have some lab work done. Yesterday my Doctor’s office called and said the doctor needed to see my about my results. I woke up today dreading what the doctor was going to tell me. After a two-hour wait the doctor finally comes in. […]
